Blind Side is part of Kristen Proby’s With Me in Seattle Universe.
Life is full of surprises...
The minute running back Draven Jameson sees the stunning, raven-haired beauty in the stands during fan appreciation day, he immediately knows that he needs her in his life. Despite having to battle for his starting spot with his new team in Seattle, and memories of the hardships he endured before entering the league fresh in his mind, things couldn’t be better. Draven can see further into the future than he ever has before—not only with his career but also with his life.
Presley Bantam didn’t mean to mislead the handsome recruit. The way he asked her out swept her off her feet, and things were just too good. Besides, her secret shouldn’t affect him…until it does. Forced to make one of the hardest decisions of her life, Presley chooses her career over her man, hoping she can make it up to him later. But Draven has other ideas.
When the betrayal takes things in a dangerous direction, with lives suddenly hanging in the balance, only truth can save them. Forgiveness is the only thing that can set them free. But will it be enough?
CHAPTER 7
~Draven~
Damn, she was magnificent. I couldn’t believe my luck. She was sweet, attentive, intelligent, and I had no words to describe how sexy I found her. And her assertiveness only added to her appeal.
As she led me through the house to her bedroom, I felt a small surge of guilt rise that I hadn’t postponed this a bit to learn more about her, but I had tried, and she’d flipped the tables on me. It was a position I didn’t mind being in, and I hoped she’d put me in more before the night was through. I inwardly groaned at my bad joke, thinking too much of my blood must have rushed south, and then I laughed aloud.
She turned. “What’s so funny?” She walked backwards through the doorway into a room done up in aqua and brown with hints of silver and .
I looked into her gorgeous grey eyes. “Nothing. I was just being a guy, thinking about how I couldn’t think because my brain no longer had any blood to function properly.” I laughed, and she let go of my hand and stepped closer, patting herself on the back, humor twinkling in her eyes.
“Job well done, then, I’d say.” She reached out and cupped me through my jeans, and my head fell back. I couldn’t contain the groan that slipped past my lips. This woman would kill me.
She caressed me one more time and then looped her arms around my waist as she looked up at me. Without her heels, the top of her head only came up to my chin, and it was adorable.
“So, I have to ask, what’s with the whole ‘little raven’ thing?” she said, sticking her fingers into the back pockets of my jeans and caressing the globes of my ass. I got impossibly harder. “When I first saw you in the stands on fan appreciation day, the first thought that entered my mind, aside from how beautiful you were, was how your hair in the sunshine reminded me of a raven’s wing. When I didn’t know your name, it seemed appropriate. And it just kind of stuck. Plus, raven…Draven. Now that I say it aloud, it sounds kind of possessive. But I’m not all that sorry.”
She rose on tiptoe and nipped at my chin before kissing away the sting. “Okay, that’s kind of perfect. And weirdly…artful. You get extra points for that.”
“Extra points, huh?” I said, raising a brow. “Do I get a prize?”
“I think something can be arranged,” she teased as she spun us and shoved me onto the mattress then proceeded to give me the striptease of my life. Her body was a work of art, curves in all the right places, softness mixed with strength. I couldn’t stop staring. Aside from the cherry blossom branch she had on her collarbone, she had another tattoo on her left ribs. Some kind of skin-rip design where it looked as if you could see into her body and gaze upon the tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland. It was amazing.
I took my time exploring her ink and her assets, eliciting moans and sighs, and more than one shout of joy. She was sweeter than anything I’d ever tasted, and I knew, after the very first lick, that I’d never get enough. We fit together like pieces of a puzzle, and I learned her like I did my playbook, memorizing all the things that led to success.
When we finally collapsed in a heap of boneless, sated, sweaty limbs and harsh breaths, I felt something click inside me. It scared the shit out of me, but I knew in that instant that I had found something special in Presley Bantam. She made me feel more alive. Made my worries—about my job, about the time I had left on my military contract, about being in a new town—utterly disappear.
Sending Jordy down with that note was the best decision I had ever made.
What did they call that? A meet-cute? Whatever it was, it was the start of something I couldn’t wait to explore.

A Little Q&A with Rayvn herself
1. Tell us about yourself.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, I love to write about the Midwest (where the Willow Falls series is set), but I also enjoy exploring new territories like Baltimore (where the BLUE FORTY-TWO cast hangs out), Seattle (where BLIND SIDE takes place), and New Orleans (where my next full-length will be set). I am a huge football lover and love to interject modified personal experiences into my fictional works. ;-)
2. Give a brief description of your book, BLIND SIDE.
Despite their instant and undeniable chemistry, an adorable meet-cute, and a case of mistaken identity, running back Draven Jameson and executive Presley Bantam must navigate the ups and downs of a relationship at a time when neither of them was looking—and are both caught off guard by what they find.
3. Why did you write BLIND SIDE?
After writing BLUE FORTY-TWO, I just felt like Draven needed a book and I had this idea for this sassy football executives who could use a happily ever after. Not to mention, I’ve always wanted to use some of my personal experiences and make them into a great story, and I think I accomplished that.
4. Is this book part of a series?
BLIND SIDE is part of Kristen With Me in Seattle Universe and is part of the Lady Boss Press Quick Snap Collection. These installments are the Championship Editions, so you will see mention of the big game. Both BLUE FORTY-TWO and BLIND SIDE stand alone, but Draven first appeared as a mention in BLUE FORTY-TWO, and Presley is the sister of one of my supporting characters in BLUE FORTY-TWO. Not to mention, Kristen’s Play With Me characters make appearances in both books. There will be at least two more. I have ideas for the running back coach that was mentioned in BLIND SIDE and Presley’s best friend Kennedy. And Presley’s doctor brother will also get a book—his heroine is an assistant coach.
5. The idea of BLIND SIDE is strong in your book. What about that idea moved you?
So, as I mentioned I like to pull from real-life experience when I’m plotting. The way that Draven asks Presley out in BLIND SIDE happened to me with a pro-baseball player. Some of the other things in the book were also loosely based on real life.
6. What was the most challenging part of writing this book?
Honestly, nothing. This book flowed like water. It was wonderful—and terrifying. LOL. Where the struggle came in was when I sent it to my critique partner, my editor, and my beta readers and all of them had differing opinions on different things. I wanted to make everyone happy, but I ultimately went with my gut, and I think the final outcome is great. Early readers are loving it, so we’ll see what others think…
7. What is your favorite passage in the book and why?
There are actually many, but I LOVE this line: “. . . she teased as she dropped down my front, every delectable place on her body caressing the hungry spots on mine.”
